Sammamish - Neutral Transitional Flat

Project overview

This project was a challenge in the best way. The client envisioned their standard lakeside flat transformed into a soft, serene retreat — a space that felt calm and neutral, yet anything but boring. From the very beginning, they emphasized the same goal: “neutral, but with character.”

To bring that vision to life, we introduced wallpaper in every room to add depth and quiet interest, paired with floor-to-ceiling curtains that soften the light and elevate the space. We layered in meaningful pieces collected from their travels around the world, allowing each room to tell a personal story.

This home is proof that size is never a limitation — any space can feel warm and inviting when it reflects the people who live there. Thoughtfully styled with family heirlooms, vintage treasures, and striking black-and-white photography from their global adventures, the flat now feels like a beautifully curated sanctuary by the lake.

Details

For this project, I was involved in every detail from start to finish. I sourced the flooring, paint, lighting, wallpaper, and countertops, and designed the custom Roman shades and full-height curtains. We fully furnished the home as well — layering in everything down to the final throws and pillows to create a cohesive, polished look throughout.
