West Seattle - Blue Cottage

Project overview

This project was such a joy to work on. The home is smaller with a more traditional architectural style, and the owners really wanted to infuse the kitchen with the kind of patina and character you’d find in a European home. We incorporated pot and pan racks hung from unlacquered brass rods to allow for natural aging and warmth over time. Shiplap was added to the backsplash to give the space an authentic sense of history and charm.

I truly love the layers throughout this kitchen—the woven textures, the warmth of the materials, and the thoughtful details all come together beautifully. It may be small in size, but it makes such an impactful statement.

Details

For this project, I helped source and select paint colors, hardware, lighting, furniture, and accessories, ensuring every finish and detail felt cohesive and intentional. From foundational elements to the final styling pieces, I guided the overall aesthetic to create a balanced, polished, and thoughtfully layered space.
